Is recruiting that different today ? Of course it is, but …… Recruiting and promoting yourself, actually starts when you're old enough to play with friends. You wanted to get picked to play whatever at recess, or for the school's football team or theatre production. Then you got recruited out of college to join a Big 8 (then!) CPA firm, or for a corporate intern or management trainee position. "They" came to our universities, and we never even thought about not getting a job. And that's what we were supposed to do. Thinking out of the box - some did obviously, but it wasn't easy or certainly encourage...
