Creating your Own Video Resume

This option is designed for those who are not located near one of our Pro Video Availability Areas, or do not have access to a more professional video production solution. With this option, you can set a video camera up on a tripod, or have a friend videotape you as you present yourself. There are definitely some guidelines you should follow, and we present these to you in detail on this website.

At left is an example of a "create-your-own" Video Resume. Depending on the quality of your camera, the lighting, the setting, and your ability to add titles or graphics using video editing software, you could produce a top-notch Video Resume. This option is perfect if you have the equipment, the know-how (or know someone who does!) and do not live near one of our media circles.

At Rezbiz, we provide many different options for you to connect with employers with your own video resume, including the option of creating your own and uploading it onto your profile. Here are some tips when creating your own video resume.

Find a quiet location with good lighting.
Dress professionally and make sure the location is clean and neat.
Place yourself in the center of the screen.
Look into the camera lens or just off camera.
Speak clearly and concisely.
Keep your answers short, so that the finished video is between 1-2 minutes.

Here are a list of questions that that have been devised by our recruitment experts that we require in the video. This is to ensure to recruiters that all of our video resumes contain the same information. Also, for consistency purposes- we require your video be a maximum time of 2 minutes. Recruiters like the standardized format that RezBuzz delivers to them.

Where did you (or do you) go to college, and what was your major, and why?

What are your major accomplishments both personally and professionally?
What are your future goals (next 3-5 years)….or what motivates you?
What makes you unique? ( this is your chance to set yourself apart- with special skills, interests, alliances etc)

Once you have shot your Video Resume, you may need to edit the answers together into a 1-2 minute piece. Then, you will be able to upload your masterpiece right onto your online profile.
